About the Artist

New England-born artist, Josh Pereira grew up between two worlds: his family’s deep ties to Portuguese culture and the years he spent soaking up the soulful rock music of the generations before him.

Performing for thousands across the United States & Portugal for the past decade, his signature sound, revered vocal craftsmanship, and passionate songwriting abilities are certain to garner human connection and critical acclaim in the industry.

 

Starting his career early, Josh cut his teeth as frontman for the alt-rock group “Fighting The Influence”. The group crafted their first self-titled EP (2009) followed by the full-length album “Come Alive” (2012) earning the touring band radio airplay, festival success, and performances supporting notable acts such as Dennis DeYoung (Styx) and Aaron Gillespie (Underoath and The Almost). Fighting The Influence went on hiatus in late 2012 and Pereira began a solo career.

Josh released his first solo effort, Painting Pictures EP (2013) earning him a performance, broadcast on international television to over 20 million viewers worldwide. Pereira was nominated for “Best New Talent” (2013) at the International Portuguese Music Awards and awarded “Best Pop Song” (2014) for the following year. (“Starry Night”).

This year, Josh announced the release of a new single (“Change is Coming” December 2018) with plans for new music and an album in the coming months. His latest release leans into the stylistic influence of artists like Fleetwood Mack, Chris Stapleton, and John Mayer and celebrates his Portuguese ancestry and more notably the relationship between a father and son.
